For Dr. Ryan McCall, dentistry is about more than treating teeth. It is about getting to know the person behind the smile. He believes every patient deserves to feel heard, comfortable, and confident in their care. That belief is why he took over this small San Luis Obispo practice in 2024. It is a place where dentistry can be done the way he thinks it should be: dedicated, honest, and personal. No rushing between operatories, no treatment plans handed down without conversation.
Education and training
Dr. McCall earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008 after completing a double major in Biology and Chemistry at Indiana University. Since then, he has built a broad background in general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry while developing a particular passion for dentures and removable prosthetics.
That passion has been shaped by years of hands-on experience both in the dental office and in the laboratory. Dr. McCall has advanced training in dentures and denture fabrication and has owned and operated a dental laboratory for many years. This experience gives him a unique perspective on creating dentures and allows him to stay closely involved in the details that make a denture comfortable, functional, and natural-looking.
Comprehensive, experienced care
Throughout his career, Dr. McCall has gained extensive experience in restorative dentistry, dentures, implant restorations, root canal therapy, extractions, oral sedation, and other areas of comprehensive dental care. He especially enjoys helping patients who may need more involved treatment or who have struggled to find a solution that feels right for them.
His office also provides removable dentures and dentures supported by dental implants, allowing many patients to receive more of their care in one familiar place.
Continuing education
540+ hours of advanced training
Dr. McCall has completed more than 540 hours of continuing education since dental school, with additional training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and dentures. He also lectures nationally on modern denture techniques, digital workflows, and incorporating laboratory practices into patient care.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. McCall enjoys spending time with his six children. He also enjoys cycling, running, and fishing whenever he has the opportunity.
